Hi ya everyone! Today, we wanted to do something a bit different and show you the progress that one student made in our most recent Basic Class. Elizabeth from Pen and Paperie is an outstanding student! She consistently finished her homework on time
and made great strides in her coloring. I can’t wait to show you her before and after.
When you enter the Basic Classroom here at Created from Color you are asked to color any image without any instruction. Kristy and I want to see your style and see where you are starting when you come into the course. This helps us evaluate where you are and help you on an individual basis. So let’s see Elizabeth’s creations before the class and after the class.
Elizabeth started with a number of fabulous techniques already, especially smooth coloring. However, you can see that after the class she has an image that truly POPS off the screen and screams I’m a wonderful Copic user
. We’d love to do that for you as well. Kristy and I also asked Elizabeth a few questions concerning the course and here are her answers:
Elizabeth, what made you decide to take an online Copic Class? Have you taken one before?
I wanted to improve my colouring and found this course, I think from an SOG blog post, and it was also recommended by my cyber friend Nanna Donna. I’ve never taken one before but an online course suited me perfectly in terms of being able to fit the classes in around my own schedule.
What part/lesson helped you the most?
The lighting class was probably the one thing I really struggled with but also some of the more basic things like flicking and watching how you and Kristy hold markers really helped me get my technique right.
How did you feel about your coloring before the class and now that you’ve completed the class?
I thought my colouring was OK and getting better before the class (I only started in on Copics in about February of this year) but am blown away with how I’m colouring now. I can hardly believe the final project was actually done by me, there are so many things about it that I would never have known how to even begin doing if I hadn’t done the class.
What was your favorite part?
The thing I liked the most was the comments on the gallery posts from you and Kristy, I’ve copied them on to the scanned images so that I know what I need to watch for the next time in the same situation and so I can keep improving and not make the same ‘mistakes’ again.
Thanks Elizabeth for talking to us and allowing us to share your stunning progress. Please stop by Elizabeth’s blog for more stunning projects!
